The G4X decoder is our 4th generation decoder with numerous improvements, new capabilities and more unique features than our prior AirWire motion decoders. 

120 Watt Motor Driver provides up to 120 Watts of motor drive power. 

The Improved Smoke Generator Driver features a 3 Amp output plus a user programmable timer for the automatic shut-off. The shut-off time can range from 0 minutes (never shuts off) all the way up to 255 minutes. The time can be adjusted in one minute increments. The standard factory setting is 3 minutes. 

Improved Precision Motor Speed Control Is Standard. T The G4 decoder uses a unique method and ultra-high precision to calculate each speed step value to provide you with exceptionally fine control and unequaled performance whether it is a low speed or a high speed setting. No matter what speed step setting is used, the G4 provides the same smooth control making locomotive speed control simple and easy. There are two modes of Cruise control to make constant speed operation as simple and intuitive as your car's cruise control. 

Improved Motor Circuit Protection is standard on the G4. The redesigned circuit includes protection against over voltage, over current, over heating and under voltage. Surge currents up to 55 amps are also tolerated. 

High Current Screw Terminals Are Provided. There are two sets of screw-type terminals on the G4. The 4 pin strip is used to make battery and motor connections. The small 2-pin strip is the DCC output to external sound modules. 

Built-In DCC Booster. Built into the G4 is a fully protected DCC booster suitable for driving any brand of DCC sound decoder. The booster has plenty of power allowing the high power Phoenix P8 decoder to safely deliver its full 5 Watt speaker drive power. 

Two Built-In Phoenix Coupler Drivers are included with the G4 decoder. No special boards or extra circuitry are needed. Just connect the Phoenix coupler to the appropriate driver and enjoy this new and exciting aspect of garden railroad operation. 

Lots of Light Drivers and Options. In addition to the usual forward and reverse headlights, the G4 includes a pair of ditch/safety light drivers that can be triggered to flash from the throttle. There are also 4 enhanced light drivers suitable for almost any kind of lamp, relay or other load. Each lamp driver is rated at 1 Amp and can drive either LEDs or incandescent light bulbs. 

Exciting Lighting Effects. There are 16 different lighting effects from which to choose. Assign them to any lighting output. The effects are independent and each output can have a different effect. There is a dedicated pair of outputs for adding ditch lights to your favorite diesel. 

Easy To Use Wiring Harnesses are standard and included with the G4. There are two miniature 6 pin headers into which you can plug in the matching harness. The first header has the front and rear headlights, the two Ditch Lights and two ELITEs. The second header is for the couplers, two more ELITEs and the Smoke Driver.
