332-11 is a kit that includes one (1) Expansion Track section and four (4) 332-15 Straight+Power Rail Clamps necessary to install the Expansion Track in an existing code 332 trackway. It adjusts for expansion/contraction caused by temperature changes.

 

The Expansion Track is a section of G-Scale code 332 brass track which has half-wide rail splices that slide by each other to allow the track section to lengthen/shorten. When pushed closed by heat expansion of the track in which it is installed, the section is 8.4" long; when pulled open by cooling contraction of the track, it elongates up to 9.4".   Unlike our original version and others on the market now, the sliding sections of rails are offset from each other rather than being directly opposite; this exclusive Hillman design makes the 332-11 twice as strong as the alternate design.
