The 250-16 Double-Long Rail Clamp is 1.250" long, over twice the length of the standard 0.600" 250-01 Straight Rail Clamp. 250-16 is used wherever the most length and/or greatest strength of connection is required.
The 250-16 includes four clamping screws, two for each abutting rail; this provides a stronger, better conductive connection than afforded by the two-screw 250-06 Extra-Long Rail Clamp. Alternatively, if the 250-16 is used to bridge a gap [up to 0.75"] between rail ends, one or both of the two middle screws can be used to hold the gap-filling rail splice.
A 250-16 clamps completely around the rail flange--top, bottom and edges--as well as the base of the rail web. This exclusive Hillman design results in a joint that is extremely strong in all 3 dimensions and that ensures conductivity.
